NBA Referee Report

A little, and mostly through whistles. Crews that call more fouls send more players to the free-throw line, which adds points and slows the game; crews that let teams play tend to finish lower. The effect is a tendency, not a forecast: three referees share every game, and the betting market already prices much of it. This report shows how each crew's games have finished against the closing total since 2022-23, and flags a lean only when a crew has both beaten the close by a meaningful margin and gone over (or under) more often than not.
