2025 PGA Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions: Collin Morikawa

Rory McIlroy's thrilling victory at The Masters last month set up some compelling storylines for the second major of the season, the 2025 PGA Championship, which will be played this week at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina.

McIlroy completed the career grand slam with his win at Augusta. If he wins again this week, he'll be halfway to a true grand slam. McIlroy has fared well at Quail Hollow throughout his career, having won four tournaments there. It's a course that favors big hitters — right up McIlroy's alley.

But McIlroy isn't even the favorite this week. That would be Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 player in the world. Scheffler cruised to an eight-shot victory at his most recent event, the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

Will golf fans be treated to a duel between McIlroy and Scheffler? Or will other top players intervene? Defending PGA champ Xander Schauffele is certainly capable of repeating. Justin Thomas and Ludvig Aberg have been hot lately. LIV Tour star Bryson DeChambeau has been frisky in recent majors, and other LIV players — Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Tyrrell Hatton and others — could contend.

Course History

Collin Morikawa was another member of the Presidents Cup team that won at Quail Hollow Club in 2023. He logged a 16th-place finish here at the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship, while missing the cut at the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship.

Morikawa also won the 2020 PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.

Recent Form

It's been a bit of a frustrating 2025 for Morikawa. Yes, he's got three top-10 finishes, including a pair of runner-up finishes, but one of those was a collapse at the Arnold Palmer Invitational late in the final round, which would've ended a two-year win drought.

Morikawa ranks fifth in total strokes gained, including fourth in SG: Approach and third in birdie average.

Betting Outlook: 2025 PGA Championship Predictions

It's always tempting to bet on a ball-striker with the consistency and talent that Morikawa displays. He's currently +2200 to win, his typical range.

Bunker saves and putting remain the biggest issues, plus finishing while in contention. I'm fading Morikawa this week, despite how well he plays tee-to-green.
