2025 PGA Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions: Best PGA Bets
The PGA Championship is the second major of the 2025 PGA Tour season, and it’s being held at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, this week. 156 golfers are set to compete at this lengthy par 71 course, running over 7,600 yards.
Scottie Scheffler is a slight betting favorite to win the 2025 PGA Championship at +425 odds. Rory McIlroy, who has won four times at Quail Hollow Club, including last year at the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship, is currently +500 to win on DraftKings Sportsbook.
McIlroy has three wins on the PGA Tour in 2025, with his biggest coming at The Masters to finally complete his major Grand Slam. Scheffler won by eight strokes with a historic 31-under-par victory during his last outing two weeks ago during the CJ CUP Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch. Xander Schauffele (+2200) is the defending champion after recording his first win at a major while playing Valhalla in 2024.
Last week, I swept my 2025 Truist Championship Best PGA Bets at the Philadelphia Cricket Club Wissahickon Course. The 3-0 card included Justin Thomas to record a Top 10 Finish at +175 odds, Shane Lowry to record a Top 20 Finish at +125 odds, and Andrew Novak to card a Top 30 Finish at -115 odds.
I’ve got three more best bets, each worth one unit, to place ahead of Round 1 at the 2025 PGA Championship. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more free bets and weekly PGA Tour analysis.

Outright Winner
I’ll start with a chalky play and back Rory McIlroy to win at Quail Hollow Club for the fifth time in his PGA Tour career. McIlroy is a bomber off-the-tee, which is why he’s been so consistently dominant at this course.
He’s stacked three wins on the PGA Tour in 2025. This includes his Masters victory last month during the first major of the season. Ranked second in total strokes gained (SG), including first in SG: Off-the-Tee, sixth SG: Putting and second in scoring average.
From tee-to-green, McIlroy is among the elite in this field. He’s improved his putting too, making McIlroy a force to be reckoned with ahead of his return to Quail Hollow.
Bet up to one unit on McIlroy to win the 2025 PGA Championship at this short 5-1 price.
Pick: Rory McIlroy (+500)
Top 20 Finish
I’ll happily bet on Xander Schauffele to defend his title with at least a Top 20 finish at even odds. Schauffele started slow following a rib injury this season but he’s logged four consecutive finishes inside the Top 20, including a T8 at The Masters.
Has a pair of runner-up finishes at Quail Hollow in previous Wells Fargo Championship events. Schauffele ranks seventh SG: Approach, 42nd in driving distance, 41st proximity and 16th on approach shots from 200+ yards.
One more unit is warranted on Schauffele to post a Top 20 Finish at +100 odds this week.
Pick: Xander Schauffele (+100)
Top 20 Finish After Round 1
Justin Thomas won the 2017 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club. Now, eight years later, he’s trending up and looking to win his third Wanamaker Trophy at the 2025 PGA Championship.
Thomas ranks inside the top 40 for Round 1 scoring average, shooting 69.5 in opening rounds this season. He’s ranked third in total strokes gained metrics, including fifth SG: Approach, 20th SG: Putting and first in putting average. Thomas is also 25th in proximity and second on the PGA Tour in birdie average (4.82).
Asking for a Top 20 Finish after Round 1 doesn’t seem like too much for Thomas to deliver. Especially at +170 odds. He’s logged a 61 at Harbour Town in Round 1 and a 66 at Wissahickon Course, which both came in Signature Events.
Let’s bet one final unit on J.T. to wind up T20 or better after Round 1 at +170 odds during the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club.
Pick: Justin Thomas (+170)
