The Minnesota Vikings have waived wide receiver Josh Doctson. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Betting Impact:

Doctson was signed after Chad Beebe went down with an injury, but apparently did not show enough to earn a role on a team that has also been missing Adam Thielen for three of the last four contests. The fact that he could not show chemistry with a QB he played with in Washington is a cause for concern for his career prospects going forward. The Vikings promoted talented rookie Cameron Smith from the practice squad to take his roster spot. Doctson's release suggests that Adam Thielen will indeed be ready for Monday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks. Thielen's return to the field will give the Vikings their best chance to cover the spread, and to match or exceed their implied team total.
