The New England Patriots' point spread for their Week 2 matchup against the New York Jets has been bet up from -5 to -5.5, per BettingPros consensus odds.

Betting Impact:

This game will be a battle of rookie quarterbacks, as New England's Mac Jones faces New York's Zach Wilson. Both of these teams are coming off disappointing Week 1 losses, as the Jets lost on the road at Carolins while the Patriots were upset at home against the Dolphins. Given how both games played out, the Patriots had a much better chance of walking out with a win, if not for a costly fumble late in the fourth quarter after New England was deep in Miami territory. However, bettors are clearly looking for a motivated effort by a Bill Belichick-led team after a Week 1 loss, and we could continue to see this number rise more throughout the week.
