The betting public has weighed in on the Week 1 matchup between the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers, and thinks it will be a higher scoring game than the experts think.

Betting Impact:

The over/under for the Jets-Panthers season opener is 44.5 points. Per DraftKings, the over has attracted 62% of the bets and 76% of the handle thus far. By comparison, the moneyline odds reveal a more drastic betting split. The Jets' moneyline odds of +170 have attracted 21% of the bets but 60% of the money thus far. Compared to the 37% handle on the Jets getting four points with the spread, it seems bettors are more content to bet them to win the game outright for a bigger payout than to have them cover the +4 points.
