The Dallas Cowboys earned an important win over the New York Giants in Week 5 and are in first place in the NFC East. However, the win proved costly as they lost quarterback Dak Prescott to an ankle injury that required surgery immediately.

Betting Impact:

The Cowboys have a number of offensive weapons that can help them off-set the loss of Prescott, and are set up better than most with veteran Andy Dalton as their backup quarterback. As it stands, the Cowboys are still -125 favorites to win the division, but their odds to win the conference plummeted to +2100. While Dalton may prove to be capable of leading this offense, the Cowboys still have the worst-ranked scoring defense allowing 36.0 PPG.
