The consensus point spread for the Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers has opened at -1.5 on the Chiefs.

Betting Impact:

The point spread for this contest opened as low as -1 at some books, and ESPN reports that sharp action on the Chiefs was taken in Vegas as a pick ‘em. This would be a very interesting line to monitor if there was only one week until the game, with two weeks, we are in for some illuminating insights. The closing point spread for a Super Bowl has been less than two points just four times. There has never been a pick ‘em Super Bowl. Kansas City is 8-1-1 against the spread in their last 10 contests. San Francisco is 6-1 against the spread in their last seven contests against teams with winning records.
