The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to kick-off as defending Super Bowl champions as -7.5 point favorites at home next Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys, per BettingPros consensus odds.

Betting Impact:

As 7.5 point favorites, the Buccaneers' point spread is tied for the largest of any game on the Week 1 NFL slate. In addition to the spread, the over/under opened at 51.5 points, which is tied for the second-highest total. Tampa Bay had outstanding roster consistency in the off-season, as they return all 22 starters from last year's Super Bowl. They seem to have a lot less question marks heading into the season opener than the Cowboys, who have some uncertainty surrounding the health of quarterback Dak Prescott and his shoulder. After the news that Prescott was going to undergo further MRIs and receive second opinions a couple weeks ago, Tampa Bay's spread increased from what had opened as a 6.5 point spread at many sportsbooks.
