Final Betting Notes for #15 Irish/#6 Trojans

by | |
Sat, Nov 26th 1:16pm ET

Per Vegas Insider, 64% of spread bets and 70% of the money is on Notre Dame to cover (+4.5). As for the total, 69% of tickets are on the over (63.5) while 77% of the money is on the under... View More

Betting Impact:

Can Notre Dame slow down the high-flying USC offense? They've had a great track record this year as they bring in the 17th-ranked defense in the country (20.3 opposing ppg). Despite a great defense, they're actually 6-4 to the over while USC is 8-3.

Per Vegas Insider, 81% of spread bets and 91% of the money are backing LSU to cover (-10.0). As for the total, 67% of tickets and 93% of the money are on the over (47.5)... View More

Betting Impact:

These programs are trending in the opposite direction this year. LSU started out slow but rebounded and they've somehow risen up the ranks to #5 in the country. As for Texas A&M, they had Championship aspirations but floundered and the season has turned into a nightmare. LSU comes in at 7-4 ATS (against the spread) while Texas A&M is 5-5.

Final Betting Notes for Cyclones/#4 Horned Frogs

by | |
Sat, Nov 26th 1:08pm ET

Per Vegas Insider, 56% of spread bets and 79% of the money is on Iowa State to cover (+9.5). As for the total, 61% of the tickets and 77% of the handle are on the under (46.5)... View More

Betting Impact:

Unlike usual, the betting public is riding with the underdog and the under. However, this doesn't seem to be a new trend. There has been a ton of distrust in TCU throughout the year and a lot of people are expecting them to blow the perfect season at some point. How have they responded? By going 8-2-1 ATS (against the spread) this year.

Betting Impact:

These two programs have been excellent ATS (against the spread) this year with Oregon coming in at 8-3 and Oregon State at 9-2. If you're looking at Oregon State, you may want to consider simply locking in the moneyline (+120) since the spread is under the key number of 3.0.

#15 Irish Profitable ATS Last Two Seasons

by | |

Notre Dame is 13-6 ATS (against the spread) in their last 19 games (per Oddshark)... View More

Betting Impact:

Notre Dame's catching 4.5 points in their matchup with USC tonight in Los Angeles. The key to covering will be establishing the run and winning the time of possession battle. Personally, I think they can achieve that goal as I put USC in the "finesse" category as opposed to being a physical team like Notre Dame.

Under May Be in Play in Fort Worth Today

by | |
Sat, Nov 26th 12:22pm ET

The under is 7-0 in Iowa State's last seven games (per Oddsshark)... View More

Betting Impact:

The Cyclones have been great on defense this year and abysmal on offense. Entering today, they're 115th offensively (18.6 ppg) and ninth defensively (17.9 opposing ppg). by | |

Per Oddsshark, #4 TCU is 7-0 SU (straight up) over their last seven home games... View More

Betting Impact:

You can find TCU as low as -9.5 on the spread for today's home showdown with Iowa State. As for the moneyline, the cheapest price out there is -360. It would be a major letdown if the Horned Frogs were to squander their perfect season to a Cyclones team that's just 4-7 SU this year.

Betting Impact:

Oregon State gears up to host Oregon for the Civil War and the Beavers find themselves as a 2.5-point underdog. There is a lot of faith in them this weekend considering the opening line was Oregon State +7.0. Final Betting Notes for Gamecocks/#8 Tigers

by | |
Sat, Nov 26th 11:40am ET

Betting Impact:

At a number like 14.5, I'd expect to see a lot of the money riding with South Carolina. The extra "hook" could come into play and you always want to be on the right side of the number. As for these two teams' records, they've both gone 7-4 ATS (against the spread) this year.

Final Betting Notes for #3 Wolverines/#2 Buckeyes

by | |
Sat, Nov 26th 11:35am ET

Per Vegas Insider, 55% of spread bets and 68% of the handle are on Michigan to cover (+8.5). As for the total, there's a 50/50 split of tickets while 78% of the money is on the under (55.5)... View More

Betting Impact:

It's not every day that you see a 50/50 split between tickets like this. However, there's a pretty big split between where the money is - it's on the under. Considering these are two top-ten defenses in the country, that's good logic. These two sides are opposite in how they've fared against the total this year. Michigan is 2-8-1 to the over while Ohio State is 8-3.

Final Betting Notes for Yellow Jackets/#1 Bulldogs

by | |
Sat, Nov 26th 11:29am ET

Per Vegas Insider, Georgia Tech is receiving 73% of spread bets (+36.5) while 84% of the handle is backing them to cover as well. As for the total, 59% of tickets are on the over (49.5) while 86% of the money is coming in on the under... View More

Betting Impact:

There is a monumental discrepancy between the number of tickets on the over and the handle on the under. Typically, this would mean sharp bettors are backing the under. And I think that's probably a good idea considering Georgia is the second-ranked defense in the country (12.2 opposing ppg) while Tech's offense comes in at 123rd (15.7 ppg). If you're looking at the over, you may seriously need the Bulldogs to score all 50 points.

#15 Notre Dame is currently a 5.5-point underdog as they take on #6 USC in Los Angeles. This line is down a point after opening at USC -6.5... View More

Betting Impact:

Notre Dame has turned their season around and has a chance to add another big win tomorrow. I expect the Irish to be physical and establish the run game here. That's their style and USC seems to be very susceptible to the rushing attack. The Trojans gave up 204 rushing yards to UCLA last week and currently rank 60th against the run this year (147.2 opposing rushing ypg). If ND can minimize the possessions and shorten the game, they could easily find themselves within a score when the clock hits 0:00.

Betting Impact:

Points may be tough to come by this weekend in Fort Worth. Even though Iowa State gets a lot of disrespect at just 4-7, they've actually had a great defense all year. They come into tomorrow's game ranked ninth in the country, allowing just 17.1 points per game. Their big issue has been offense as they're only putting up 18.6 points per game (115th). Make sure to shop your lines as getting the over at 48.5 could make a world of a difference if this one lands exactly on 49. One of four ranked matchups this weekend gets the Friday slate underway and it appears there is money backing Tulane as the spread has shortened throughout the week. This line move isn't shocking to anyone that has been following these two offensive-minded head coaches over the last several years. We all know Mike Leach and Lane Kiffin love to air it out and run it up on the scoreboard. Bulldogs Within 3-Point Underdogs vs. #20 Rebels

by | |
Thu, Nov 24th 9:55am ET

An opening line of Ole Miss -5.5 has decreased throughout the week and now sits at -2.5 in favor of the Rebels... View More

Betting Impact:

The public may be losing faith in Ole Miss after they've dropped their last two games: 30-24 to Alabama and 42-27 to Arkansas. As for Mississippi State, they're coming in on a one-game win streak after pummeling Eastern Tennessee St. last weekend 56-7. It may be the confidence level or simply that bettors are jumping on a respectable Bulldogs team getting over a field goal in a rivalry game.

#10 Utes Road Struggles Continue

Sat, Nov 19th 2:34pm ET

Utah is just 1-4 against the spread (ATS) in their last five road games (per Oddsshark)... View More

Betting Impact:

The Utes are laying 2.0 points tonight as they make the trip to Eugene to take on the 12th-ranked Ducks. Will their road woes continue? Personally, I think this could be a good spot for them to buck the trend. Last season, Utah went 2-0 SU against Oregon and outscored them 76-17.

This is an interesting one - the public is riding with UCLA tonight at the Rose Bowl. UCLA is 7-3 against the spread (ATS) this season while USC comes in at 6-4. As for the 11-touchdown total, the over may be in play considering these two teams are each 7-3 to the over this season.

Final Betting Notes for #2 Buckeyes/Terrapins

by | |
Sat, Nov 19th 2:17pm ET

Per Vegas Insider, 59% of tickets are on Ohio State to cover (-26.5) while 61% of the handle is backing Maryland. As for the total, 51% of bets are on the over (62.5) while 58% of the money is there as well... View More

Betting Impact:

There's a discrepancy between the sharps and the betting public in this matchup. Since more money is on the Terps to cover, it would indicate that the sharps are backing Maryland while the "Average Joe's" are riding with Ohio State. Personally, I can see an argument for backing Maryland today considering their offense has been pretty solid. They're 53rd in yards per game (396.7 ypg) and they're scoring 28.3 points per game (59th). They may be able to hang around at home.

Betting Impact:

The oddsmakers opened this game at USC -2.5 and it's stayed right there all week, only taking a slight dip to USC -2.0. On the moneyline, they can be found as low as -120 while the Bruins come back at +110.

#16 Bruins on a 75% Trend to the Over

by | |
Sat, Nov 19th 2:02pm ET

Per Oddsshark, the over is 6-2 in UCLA's last eight games... View More

Betting Impact:

There's no doubt that we're in for a high-scoring affair tonight at the Rose Bowl. The question simply becomes, "Will we reach 76.5 points?" 11 touchdowns is A LOT of points. But if any two teams can do it, you'd have to take your chances with these two top-ten offenses.

#2 Buckeyes Untouchable SU on the Road

by | |
Sat, Nov 19th 1:55pm ET

Ohio State is 16-1 straight up (SU) in their last 17 road games (per Oddsshark)... View More

Betting Impact:

The Buckeyes have been one of the more dominant teams in all of college football over the last decade and this stat simply puts that in a quantitative statement. It would be a miracle if Ohio State drops this game. They're favored by 26.5 points and sit at -4500 on the moneyline. If you're looking for a lottery ticket, you can get Maryland at +1800 to win outright today.

by | |
Sat, Nov 19th 1:45pm ET

Per Oddsshark, the over is a perfect 7-0 in the last seven meetings between Ohio State and Maryland... View More

Betting Impact:

Today's total sits as low as 62.5 for this B1G showdown between the Buckeyes and Terrapins. Maryland's offense has been a strong point this season as they're averaging 28.3 points per game (59th). If they're able to score four touchdowns, this over should clear with ease.

Final Betting Notes for #1 Bulldogs/Wildcats

by | |
Sat, Nov 19th 1:38pm ET

Per Vegas Insider, 77% of spread tickets are on Georgia to cover (-22.5) while 51% of the handle is on Kentucky plus the points. As for the total, 77% of bets are on the under (47.5) while 82% of the money is there as well... View More

Betting Impact:

We have a split on the side in this game as the number of tickets favors UGA while a slight majority of the handle is backing Kentucky. With a number north of three touchdowns, I don't find it surprising that bigger bettors are backing the home team in this one.
